INoPSU Secretariat

The INoPSU secretariat consists of a convenor, co-convenor and liaison officer. These posts following consultation with the individual link person for each national surveillance unit make decisions on the direction and development of INoPSU.

Danielle Grenier, MD, FRCPC

I am a community paediatrician who completed her paediatric residency training at McGill University in Montréal. I am the Canadian Paediatric Society's medical affairs director. Since 1994, she has been the medical advisor for the Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program (CPSP). I collaborates with study investigators, helped establishing timely study feedback to participants with the ‘Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Tips of the Month and CPSP Highlights which include a clinical vignette with learning points. Also I have presented nationally and internationally, published on surveillance studies and has been instrumental in establishing closer collaboration between national surveillance units.

I am Deputy Director of the APSU and Associate Professor Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health, The University of Sydney. I have a PhD in Medicine and a special interest in rare diseases research and epidemiology. I lead a number of surveillance studies, has supported the development of new surveillance systems has been instrumental in developing strategic national and international collaborations. I have attracted numerous grants, and has published widely.

I currently work at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health as scientific coordinator to the British Paediatric Surveillance Unit. I also hold an honorary research fellowship in the Centre for Paediatric Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the Institute of Child Health (London). My current research interests are in the epidemiology of haemolytic uraemic syndrome. I have recently completed work on a project investigating the epidemiology of early onset eating disorders in younger children. I am now pulling together international data for comparison

I have acted as coordinator and liaison officer for INoPSU since its inception in1998, acting as the link between the national units.
